The problem

Manual room booking doesn't scale. Without a live system, members have no self-service way to check availability or book a room, staff have no dashboard to manage the space, and everything runs on spreadsheets and phone calls, with no easy way to show or update things like closures, vacation days, or working-hour changes.

What it does

  • A clean, bilingual booking flow. Sign in with Google, pick a room and time, done in seconds, with sensible limits so no one can hog the rooms.
  • Rooms availability screen. A dedicated screen shown to users as they enter the library, so they can see available rooms, working hours, and important announcements on their own.
  • An operations dashboard for staff. Live calendar, manual bookings, announcements, usage analytics, and a full audit trail of every action taken.
  • Small UX details that add up. Add-to-calendar buttons, session-expiry warnings, and live password-strength feedback: the kind of polish that makes a tool feel trustworthy.
  • Five access levels, enforced where it matters. From a read-only lobby display to full admin, every permission is checked at the database, not just hidden in the UI, so it can't be bypassed.
  • A security layer most small systems skip. Rate limiting, login lockouts, optional bot protection, and a hardened server-side gate that blocks admin access before a page even loads.

The result

The platform is live and taking real bookings as adoption grows, with security and reliability treated as first-class features from day one, not bolted on once usage grows.
